Below are steps that I generally follow when working with a client on a custom project:
Step 1: Meeting
I meet with you, the client, to discuss the project, your needs and how I can best assist you in achieving your goals.
Step 2: Options
I take the details of what we have discussed, and I break that down into viable options that I believe best match your needs and requests. The options have estimates attached, which give you an idea of the associated costs/price ranges.
Step 3: Discussion
We discuss the option(s). When the best plan of action is agreed upon, we start with that, knowing that the project is flexible and fluid at this point, and that changes can easily be made.
Step 4: Brainstorming
I begin work on sketching ideas and preliminary layouts. We can collaborate on ideas here. For example, if you wish to send additional inspiration in the form of descriptions, graphics, photos—whatever will help me better understand the look and feel you’re after—I will be more than happy to receive! I then send to you my visual ideas and layouts in the form of digital scans and mock-ups for your review.
Step 5: Idea + revisions
One idea (or combination of ideas) is selected based on the work done in Step 4. Revisions are made at this stage, so that your first choice can be refined, as needed, to your liking.
Step 6: Final art approved
Final layouts are completed. Final project cost/quote confirmed. You then provide final approval for all layouts and materials before the work goes to into final production.
Step 7: Final product delivered
All pieces are delivered to you within the agreed upon timeframe.
